How to register
You may register with us by completing the New Patient Registration Form and the New Patient Questionnaire below.
You must live within the practice boundary.
To register with the practice please attend the surgery after 10.00am with completed registration paperwork and form of identification. You may be told that the maximum registrations for that week are full and be asked to return again the following week as the practice often reaches the maximum patient registrations. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
We will not accept any registrations from patients who are already registered with a local practice, and have not moved address.
New Patient Registration List
The Practice has now re-opened its list to new patient registrations. There are still significant demands and rising workload, and therefore the number of registrations per week will be limited.
Registrations can only take place in person. Registrations will take place Monday to Fridays 10am to 4.30pm, Pleas ecome along within these times and bring proof of your address.
Registration is with a GP Practice and not with a specific GP.
If you move outwith our practice area, you should find a new GP Practice nearer to where you live as soon as possible. Information is detailed below of how to register with another GP Practice.
Please note that patients looking to register with a GP Practice should be directed to NHS Inform for advice by calling 0800 22 44 88 or accessing the website at https://www.nhsinform.scot/ The website has a search function to locate the nearest GP practice: https://www.nhsinform.scot/scotlands-service-directory/gp-practices
Temporary Registrations
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

These fact sheets have been written to explain the role of UK health services, the National Health Service (NHS), to newly-arrived individuals seeking asylum. They cover issues such as the role of GPs, their function as gatekeepers to the health services, how to register and how to access emergency services.
Special care has been taken to ensure that information is given in clear language, and the content and style has been tested with user groups.
